Testimonials
Terry is a consummate musician; an absolute professional; and a pleasure to work with. His performance during my daughter’s ceremony created a perfect moment on a perfect afternoon. I recommend him without reservation.
Weddings can be chaotic ordeals with many moving pieces. But Terry’s thoughtfulness in helping us create the set list, his calm demeanor to get it all done and his unparalleled musical ability made our special day all the more special. We’d highly recommend Terry for any event, especially a wedding.
The music at our wedding was wonderful. Terry was so easy to work with...Hattie Majeski
The music at our wedding was wonderful. Terry was so easy to work with and made me feel at ease from the planning to the day of. He was excited about the song my husband picked for the ceremony even though it was not the most traditional wedding ceremony song and helped me choose some prelude music and a recessional song when I hadn’t had any ideas for those parts of the ceremony. Our guests loved the music and I felt like it made the ceremony fit the theme we had imagined perfectly.
We were married five years ago at First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor... Matt Dolan, Detroit Free Press
We were married five years ago at First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor. Our church is a beautiful, historic spot and we filled the pews with family and friends. Our minister lead us through a meaningful service. Our reception was right down the street at University of Michigan’s art museum.
But the one thing that our guest routinely comment on to this day was the music that Terry Farmer and his bandmates performed at our wedding ceremony.
Terry worked carefully with co-groom Mike, a dedicated Grateful Dead fan and lifelong lover of all kinds of music, to set the right mood before, during and after the ceremony. His band’s rendition of “The Weight” caused throngs of guests to congregate at the front of the church at the end of the ceremony, amazed at the band’s talent. Guests asked later where we found Terry and were shocked to hear that Terry helps lead the music program at our church.

Terry's music brought my mother to tears as she walked down the aisle...Valerie Knoke Griffin
Terry’s music brought my mother to tears as she walked down the aisle. He took a top 40 song (A Thousand Years) that he wasn’t familiar with and turned it into an amazing classical guitar piece that even I, as I was in the back getting ready to walk down the aisle, stopped and listened to. Terry was incredibly flexible, open to my ideas and a pleasure to work with. You name it, he can play it, and he also has a great, engaging singing voice. I would recommend his services to anyone.
Eve and I were married in December of 2016. Our goal was to create a wedding ceremony...Kim and Eve
Eve and I were married in December of 2016. Our goal was to create a wedding ceremony that was elegant, spiritual and reflective of our personality and love for music. It was our opinion that to achieve this, beautiful music would clearly need to set the tone.
After doing our research, we found our spiritual home at the First Congressional Church in Ann Arbor. Wedding coordinator, Betty Jahnke gave us Terry Farmer’s name, along with rave reviews about his ability to perform all types of music through his instrumental talents and his incredibly smooth voice. We listened to Terry perform at the less conventional style church service that FCC offered at 9am on Sunday mornings. We were sold.
The best part of this experience was when Terry set aside time with us to not only talk about our “vision” for the ceremony, but his kindness in actually playing the songs on his guitar for just the two of us. We talked about timing, cadence, and our preferred instrumental choice in piano, guitar, etc. I remember him playing snipits of “Hallelujah” as we sat before him. It actually brought me to tears as it was at that moment I knew our ceremony dreams would come true. We talked about every song, why it meant something to us and how and when he would play it. Every song that we requested was already something that he knew. His voice is beautiful and he has a soufulness about him that perfectly matched what Eve and I wanted for ourselves and our guests.
We strongly encourage anyone looking for a true artist for any personal event. Our wedding day was perfect largely in part because of him bringing our vision to life. He is kind, open-minded and very sincere. We loved him and would be happy to share our experience with anyone who would like more details.

Terry set the tone for a joyous time of memory...Connie Nagle
Terry Farmer recently performed for my husband’s memorial service. He and his band members have left me and my family with a precious memory. Terry met with me several times beforehand, working with me to determine our family’s desires for song selection. He set the tone for a joyous time of memory.
He managed to fold the highest degree of professionalism into his caring and sensitive nature.
